What to put on a one-page business website
Short answer: Four things, in this order: what you do, what it costs, when you're open, and how to reach you. Everything else is optional. Prices are the one most businesses leave off, and the one visitors most want.
The four things, and how to write each
- What you do. One line, in your customer's words. "Kathak classes for children and adults in Pune" is better than "Dance academy".
- What it costs. A price list, or a starting price such as "from ₹500". A visitor with no price either leaves or sends you a message just to ask.
- When you're open. Days and hours. Mention holidays and lunch breaks if they matter.
- How to reach you. A WhatsApp button first, then a phone number. Add your address and a map link if customers visit.
Worth adding once the basics are there
- Photos of your real work, shop or results
- An enquiry form for people who'd rather not message
- A short "About" line: how long you've been running, who runs it
- Links to your Instagram or Facebook
What to leave off
- Long paragraphs about your mission
- Stock photos of people who aren't you or your customers
- Anything you won't keep up to date, like an old offer or last year's timetable
Check it like a customer
Open the page on your phone and give yourself five seconds. Can you tell what the business does, what it costs, and how to contact it? If not, cut words until you can.
