Should you show prices on your website?

Short answer: Yes, in most cases. Price is the thing visitors most want to know, and the thing most small business pages leave out. Showing even a starting price saves you time on enquiries that were never going to buy.

What happens when you hide prices

  • Some visitors leave, because they assume you're expensive.
  • Others message you only to ask "how much?", and many never reply after you answer.
  • You spend your day answering the same question again and again.

If your price really depends on the job

You don't need an exact rate card. Any of these works:

  1. A starting price: "Haircut from ₹250", "Website from ₹8,000".
  2. A range: "Bridal makeup ₹15,000 to ₹35,000".
  3. Packages: three fixed options, with "custom quote" for anything else.
  4. A worked example: "A typical 2BHK deep clean is ₹4,500".

When not to show prices

  • Prices change every day, as with gold or fresh produce. Show how you price instead.
  • You only sell to businesses through tenders or negotiation.

Keep them current

An old price is worse than no price, because customers feel cheated when it changes. Update your page the same day your prices change. On OurLink.is a change goes live as soon as you publish.
