Link in bio or a real business page: which do you need?
Short answer: A link-in-bio page is a list of buttons that send people somewhere else. A business page answers the customer's questions on the spot: what you do, what it costs, when you're open, how to reach you. Then it keeps track of who enquired. If you sell something, you need the second.
Side by side
| Compared | Link in bio | Business page |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Send visitors to other links | Turn a visitor into an enquiry |
| Prices and hours | Usually not shown | Shown on the page |
| A link | A button with a first message already typed | |
| Who enquired | You don't know | Every enquiry in one list |
| Shows up on Google | Rarely for your trade | Yes on a paid OurLink.is plan; free pages are kept off Google |
When a link in bio is enough
- You're a creator and your content is the product.
- You only need to point people to a shop, a channel or a few posts.
When you need a business page
- Customers call or message to ask prices and timings.
- You run a shop, clinic, class, salon or service.
- You want to know how many people enquired this month, and what happened to them.
You can have both
Put your business page link in your Instagram bio. It does the job of a link-in-bio page and a small website at once.
